HH Sheikha Moza visits King Saud University

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Consort of H.H. the Emir of Qatar and Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), on Monday visited king saud university as part of her three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.

At the outset of the visit, the University Rector Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Al-Othman gave a full explanation on the university's vision, objectives, the programmes development, the research and community service centres and the university activities and its several programmes.

Her Highness also inspected the documentary exhibition which displays a set of projects such as the University Awqaf (Endowments) which helps in self financing of the university, Wadi Al Riyadh (Riyadh Valley) Technology Project which is one of the leading projects in view of the recreation environment and atmosphere it provides in all areas of information and which is similar to the Qatar Science & Technology Park at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).

Her Highness then met with the university teaching staff and students and got into a dialogue which tackled a set of topics including education, development and the great approaches in education field and supporting the leaderships of the two countries vis-a-vis these approaches at the Qatari-Saudi level.

Her Highness referred to the role of the university which should be a strategic partner in the development process and help rehabilitate and qualify the youth as being partners for the revival and development of their homelands.

Her Highness called for launching bilateral educational and reseaching partnerships between the qatari educational , researching and medical institutions and the King Saud University especially in the exchange of expertise , visits and research papers for serving the joint objectives.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al Othman expressed thanks to Her Highness for her visit which is considered a moral support to king saud university and voiced admiration for the qualitative trend of Her Highness which is a source of pride and underlined meantime the unity of joint vision and targets under the political will of the two countries.

Her Highness was accompanied during the visit by the official visit.

King Saud University is the first university in Saudi Arabia ranked among the top 200 world universities as per Spanish category, and among the top 500 universities worldwide as ranked by Shanghai category.
