Texas A&M University in Qatar Anniversary: 10 Years of Engineering, A World of Difference

Doctor Weichold, Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen,

Tonight is special for each and every one of us gathered here.

Tonight is special because we are celebrating a decade of excellent partnership between Qatar and Texas A&M University.

Tonight is special because it marks a new level of ambition in our partnership.

This resolution between Texas A&M University in Qatar and Educate A Child, which I gratefully accept, sums up the essence of all that Education City is about – equipping our young people with the skills and knowledge to be global citizens and enabling them to make the world a better place.

As Doctor Weichold has said, through education, anything is possible.

I look to Aggie students of today and tomorrow to rise to the challenge enshrined in this resolution.

I count on you to use all your talents and energy to help us meet one of the greatest challenges the world is facing – giving the gift of education to children in the most difficult circumstances.

Finding innovative solutions to overcome their surroundings and bring them the tools to break the vicious cycles of poverty, conflict or marginalisation.

Your ideas and contributions can change the lives of millions. Let us now together engineer a world of difference.
