واحة العلوم والتكنولوجيا في قطر هي مركز حضانة للابتكار التكنولوجي، والتي تضم منطقة تجارة حرة ذات مختبرات لإجراء الأبحاث المتقدمة واستقطاب الشركات التكنولوجية الرائدة، فضلاً عن إقامة عشرات من الشراكات البحثية مع الجامعات في المدينة التعليمية.
خُصصت جامعة حمد بن خليفة، وهي جزء من مؤسسة قطر، لتقديم مجموعة من البرامج التعليمية والبحثية في سلكي الماجستير والدكتوراه، حيث تضمعددا من المعاهد والمراكز مثل كلية قطر للدراسات الإسلامية ومعهد الترجمة التحريرية والشفوية.
تعتبر مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع مؤسسةً خاصة غير ربحية هدفها دعم شعب دولة قطر خلال تفعيل عدد من البرامج الرامية إلى تحقيق رسالتها المتمثلة في ثلاثة مجالات رئيسة تتضمن التعليم، والعلوم والبحوث، وتنمية المجتمع. ويعد مشروعها الرائد المدينة التعليمية في الدوحة أحد الإنجازات الباهرة في الدولة. فقد افتتحت المؤسسات العالمية المرموقة فروعها وبرامجها في قطر، من بينها جامعة كارنيجي ميلون، وجامعة ويل كورنيل الطبية، وكلية الخدمة العامة التابعة لجامعة جورجتاون، وجامعة نورثويسترن، وجامعة تكساس أي أند إم، وجامعة فيرجينيا كومنويلث، وجامعة جامعة أتش إي سي – باريس، وكلية لندن الجامعية.
During her tenure as Vice Chair of the Supreme Education Council 2006-2012, Sheikha Moza played a vital role in supporting primary and secondary education in Qatar. She has overseen comprehensive reforms that stress high standards and accountability. With a rigorous national curriculum and regular testing to evaluate student performance, Qatari children will remain competitive with their global peers in maths, science and other subjects.
In 2009, Sheikha Moza created The World Innovation Summit for Education, known as WISE, an international, multi-sectoral summit that is a platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action in order to build the future of education through innovation. WISE is now an ongoing initiative and a global reference in new approaches to education.
Qatar Science & Technology Park is an incubation centre for technological innovation. This free-trade zone boasts advanced research laboratories and has attracted leading technology-based companies. Equally important are its dozens of research partnerships with the universities in Education City.
Qatar Foundation’s homegrown Hamad bin Khalifa University is an emerging research university offering post-graduate multi-disciplinary courses that respond to the region’s specific needs. It houses institutes and centres such as the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Translation and Interpreting Institute, and is delivering an array of master’s and doctoral programmes.
Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, non-profit organization that serves the people of Qatar by supporting and operating programs in three core mission areas: education, science and research, and community development. Its flagship project, Education City, in Doha stands as one of the nation’s most impressive achievements.
