Her Highness, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Education Above All and SDG Advocate, attended today the closing event for EAA’s  SDG Pavilion which has been taken place on the sidelines of the FIFA World Cup at the Fan Fest at Al Bidda Park.

To mark the occasion, Her Highness spoke about the importance of working together to achieve the goals, stating “Unlike the Teams in this World Cup, the SDGs do not compete, and every one of them must be achieved. If every action we take — from refilling a water bottle to building a school — is made with thought and purpose, then our planet has a future. Let us strive for that future.”

Her Highness went on to thank all those who contributed to the success of the pavilion including the late architect Zaha Hadid and the EAA’s team.

Her Highness also participated in the “Walk to Zero” walkathon that took place to raise awareness of achieving three key ambitious goals that are part of the effort to achieve the SDGs—Zero Hunger, Zero out of school children (OOSC), and the zero-dose immunization.

Her Highness was joined at the walkathon by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nation Amina Mohammed, Her Excellency Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Former President of Croatia, Her Excellency Jeannette Kagame, the First Lady of Rwanda, Her Excellency Armanda Ymeri, the First Lady of Albania and several esteemed ministers and dignitaries.
