Qatar Foundation

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, non-profit organization that serves the people of Qatar by supporting and operating programs in three core mission areas: education, science and research, and community development. Its flagship project, Education City, in Doha stands as one of the nation’s most impressive achievements. Leading institutions have established campuses and programmes in Qatar — including Carnegie Mellon University Qatar, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, Texas A&M University in Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar, HEC Paris in Qatar and University College London Qatar. Her Highness's success in establishing internationally renowned universities in Qatar ensures Qatari and Arab youth have access to quality education, the best educators, scholars and research facilities. She envisions a generation of Qataris who will not only flourish in the global economy but who will be leaders and innovators.
Akhlaquna
“Akhlaquna”, which means “our values” in Arabic, was launched by Her Highness in 2017. Emphasizing the links between knowledge, education, and strong values, it is a set of awards that promote the message of ethics as a basis for success and a positive contribution to the world. The awards honor young people who have excellent morals and who are inspired and follow the ethical teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women
Her Highness opened the Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women in January, 2024. The stunning building, situated in Education City. It is a place where Muslim women of all backgrounds are welcomed, and where they can explore their faith, engage in dialogue, study and pray. Different programs and courses are run there throughout the year, designed to encourage women to participate and build community.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University
Hamad Bin Khalifa University specializes in research and postgraduate degree courses. Responding to the region’s specific needs, it aligns with Her Highness's vision of maintaining cultural and Islamic values, housing centers including the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Translation and Interpreting Institute.

Qatar Academy
Qatar Academy was where Qatar Foundation began, conceived of by Her Highness in 1995 as a school where students would receive the highest quality education, in harmony with Qatari values and identity. This includes study of Arabic language and Islamic ethics. As Qatar Foundation has grown around it, including a number of other schools across Doha, the original Qatar Academy has pride of place in Education City and continues to educate and inspire future leaders.
Qatar Nanny Training Academy
In line with her passion for Arab culture and heritage, Her Highness established the Qatar Nanny Training Academy to provide top-quality training for Arabic-speaking Muslim nannies. With many families being assisted by nannies from foreign shores, Her Highness saw a gap that needed to be filled by qualified, culturally appropriate childcare workers. QNTA is the first such institution in the region, enhancing the cultural landscape.
Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra
Her Highness founded the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. Musicians throughout the world auditioned to be part of the prestigious ensemble, which held its first concert on 30 October 2008, conducted by Lorin Maazel. The orchestra performs frequently at QNCC or Katara Opera House, tours internationally, and often premieres new works by Arabic composers.
Qatar Precision Health Institute
While Qatar had already been at the forefront of precision medicine for more than 10 years, Qatar Precision Health Institute (QPHI) was formally launched in 2024, as a national center for research and implementation. Using state-of-the-art techniques, QPHI is building and holding a comprehensive database of the Qatari genome, and translating the data into targeted, individualized prevention and treatment.
Qatar Science and Technology Park
Located in the education and research hub of Education City, Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) is the embodiment of Her Highness's vision for science and technology in Qatar. It is a space where startups mix with leading global companies, enabling free flow of ideas, partnerships and mentoring, and developing a future for entrepreneurship, innovation and technology enterprises in Qatar.
Qur’anic Botanic Garden
Her Highness inaugurated the Qur’anic Botanic Garden in 2008, planting the first seedling: a Sidra tree. The Sidra tree and is mentioned in the Holy Qu’ran and forms the logo of Qatar Foundation. The QBG exhibits and conserves plants mentioned in the Holy Qur'an and the native flora in Qatar. Based on the Islamic principles that encourage environmental conservation and preservation, and protecting Qatar’s rich heritage.
Stars of Science
Her Highness conceived of ‘Stars of Science’ as a way of empowering Arab innovators to develop technological solutions for their communities, benefiting people’s health and lifestyles and helping to preserve the environment at the same time as encouraging children and young people towards the STEM subjects and careers in science and research. Hugely popular, the program was the first of its type in the region.
World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE)
Her Highness's twin passions for education and groundbreaking ideas are united in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), which she created in 2009. A biennial conference that brings together leaders in education and technology, WISE is an international conference that takes place in Doha. Using innovation as a foundation for new approaches to education, WISE is a petri dish for the introduction and development of pioneering advances in pedagogy.
World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH)
WISH is a biennial global healthcare conference, held in Doha in years alternating with WISE. It unites researchers and healthcare professionals from across the spectrum of specialisms and from around the world with technology experts working to address the world’s most significant health challenges and to improve health outcomes regionally and internationally.
