Education Above All

Driven by her passion for education and its fundamental importance in providing a better future for individuals and their communities, Her Highness has launched a number of international programs designed to provide access to school.
In 2012, she inaugurated Education Above All Foundation (EAA) as an umbrella organization for programs including Al Fakhoora, Educate A Child (EAA), Protect Education in Insecurity (PEIC) and Conflict and Reach Out To All (ROTA). Through capacity-building, resource mobilization, and multi-sectoral partnerships and alliances, EAA addresses educational issues with a special commitment to the most underserved populations of the world.
Al Fakhoora
Her Highness launched Al Fakhoora to provide education opportunities in Gaza, despite the difficulties facing students and their families. Al Fakhoora’s scholarship program supports thousands of university students each year to pursue higher education. The organization has helped to rebuild educational institutions and supports health and well-being services for families. The program has expanded to include supporting Palestinians in the West Bank, Syrian IDPs and refugees, and is active in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.
Educate A Child
With around 70 million primary school aged children currently out of school, Educate A Child supports the hardest to reach out of school children around the world. These children face barriers to education including poverty, discrimination, conflict, geography and climate change. Working with a broad range of international, national and local partners to reach these children, EAA has already changed the lives of more than 10 million children and their families.

“Since its launch at WISE in 2012, the Education Above All Foundation has embodied the spirit of innovation in developing and implementing its programs.”
Moza bint Nasser
Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC)
In conflict-affected areas, long after the fighting stops, an education system in tatters will severely stunt a nation’s capacity to rebuild. Her Highness founded Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC) in 2009. PEIC promotes and protects the right to education in areas affected by crisis, conflict and insecurity. It is a policy, research and advocacy programme, which brings together practitioners and specialists in education, international law and child protection.
Reach Out To All (ROTA)
Initially focused on Asia, ROTA has partners with NGOs, volunteers and local communities since 2005, providing education and training to more than 2 million children and youth in 20 countries, building their capacity to contribute to a sustainable future. ROTA’s present mandate focuses on ‘Education for Climate Action’, supporting the integration of Climate Change Education in secondary schools and capacity building for refugee and community-based youth in Green Skills for Climate Action.
Silatech
Aimed at tackling youth unemployment, Silatech connects young people with the jobs and resources necessary to establish and develop their projects, working with local, regional and international partners in development sectors, banks, civil society and government, locally and internationally. Silatech collaborates with entrepreneurs and local investors to create the infrastructure to develop new jobs, while at the same time finding innovative and practical ways to create a link between young job seekers and employers looking for qualified and skilled individuals.
